How do I make changes to my Chosen Name and Preferred Pronouns

The IT department is pleased to announce that students and employees can now identify their chosen names and pronouns through Self Service. Their chosen name and pronouns will be used in many areas, including on class rosters, in Canvas, Microsoft 365, and other systems. However, there may be some areas where YCCD is legally required to use an individual's legal name or where system/application limitations may not use chosen names or pronouns. 

 

Please follow the instructions and screenshots below if needed.

Log into your YCCD MyApps Portal

Select Self Service tile for WCC or YC

Select your ID# at the upper right-hand corner and click on User Profile

Select Edit Personal Identity to make changes

Type in the information needed for the Chosen First Name and Preferred Pronouns you would like associated with your account. Select Save when done.

You will see the green window in the upper left corner that you have made the changes successfully and your Chosen name and Preferred Pronouns along with your legal name and ID# will show in the About You area of your user profile.

Other areas where these changes will appear are listed in the picture below along with your Office 365 account, (Outlook email).
