Using Respondus LockDown Browser on Chromebooks

How do I use Respondus LockDown Browser on Chromebooks?

Respondus LockDown Browser® for Chromebook is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within the learning management system. When students use LockDown Browser to access an assessment, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. Students are locked into an assessment until it is submitted for grading.

If an assessment requires it, LockDown Browser will automatically deploy when the assessment is opened. There will be a quick flash of the LockDown Browser screen before automatically redirecting to the assessment's first question.  

Please Note: This information only applies to Chromebooks owned and managed by the Yuba Community College District. If you have a personal Chromebook you cannot use Respondus LockDown Browser. If you are unsure if your Chromebook is managed by the District contact the Helpdesk at
